Biography

“I want my music to normalize the hardest parts of the human experience - to be the friend who sits with you as you share your deepest pain and lonely thoughts.” As a native of Nashville, Frankie Orella has been surrounded by music her entire life. At a young age she was performing with her father and learning The Beatles’ discography on guitar, which still strongly influences her writing today. As she became more acquainted with the Nashville songwriting community, she released her first single, “Never Be Lonely,” co-written and produced by David Leonard. She followed with the release of her second single, “Come Home,” co-written and produced by Ryan Corn. In 2020, Orella worked with Steve Wilson (Ghosthood) to create a concept EP on the 5 Stages of Grief, which received critical acclaim for its honest reflection on grief and mental health. Orella has also released multiple unique covers - most notably the song “Heartbreaker” by Pat Benatar, which is Orella’s most streamed song, and “Yellow” by Coldplay, which was selected as “Best Of” by Cover Nation on YouTube. In 2023, she’s releasing her second EP - Sad In Paradise - that invites listeners into a unique alt pop journey. The singer-songwriter uses familiar melodies wrapped inside chords that feel like they don’t always belong, instrumentation that feels tense yet comforting, and words that share the honest thoughts we’re often afraid to say out loud.
