Biography
Lydia Kaseta’s sad folk songwriting began on the family farm outside of Ann Arbor, Michigan. She spent her formative years in total freedom—barefoot walks on sprawling farmland gave way to cathartic singing and a natural tendency towards personal, vulnerable lyrics packed with heart. After leaving the Midwest for Los Angeles to chase her musical dreams, Lydia initially cut her teeth as a pop songwriter for other artists but soon decided to use her voice to express her own painful emotional truths. There is a tangible sadness in Lydia’s songs and stories. Atmospheric strings and haunting melodies tear your feelings Inside Out—fitting alongside inspirations such as Sasha Alex Sloan, Gracie Abrams, Phoebe Bridgers, and Clairo. It sounds as if every song begins with a heartbreak that’s still fresh and ends with a deep conversation about how to deal with it. She records and produces her music entirely with a tight-knit circle of friends in a small Los Angeles bedroom studio, ensuring that every song comes from a safe place. Her forthcoming EP is due out early spring 2022. Through this heart-wrenching collection of four songs, Lydia hopes to provide her fans with the same emotional catharsis and release that she experiences while writing and singing. She makes music to comfort listeners on the worst days of their lives, hoping to give them the strength to someday look back and Move On.
