Biography
International from the outset, Uness has performed and made music in the USA, Canada, Germany, France, Dubai, Switzerland, Costa Rica and his native Morocco. Whether singing on his acoustic guitar in an intimate setting or capturing timeless moments in-studio, Uness has always known how to touch his listeners by means of various media and creative content. In 2006, Youness (Uness) Maroufi struck a deal with record producer and entrepreneur Ryan Leslie (Nextselection/Motown Universal). He's had a direct hand in crafting his many hits as a soloist, notably “Woman Got Culture” as well as “Taste Your Heartbeat” and has written for the likes of Cassie and Katherine McPhee ("Not With You" and "Do Me Right" respectively). Alongside his breakout singles such as "Buggin' out" (#18 Billboard emerging artist), Uness has released numerous mixtapes namely “The Seeker,” the highlight of which was a collaboration with fellow recording artist Drake (Would You Love Me).
