Biography
Launched in 2011 by former skate punk rocker Toby Hwang and fugitive astrophysicist Annie Ko, Love X Stereo is a dazzling Seoul electro rock duo whose dreamy kaleidoscope of stellar synthpop anthems have enraptured music festival audiences across Asia, Europe, and North America. With the epic release of their double EP series We Love We Leave, Pt. 1 and We Love We Leave, Pt. 2 in 2016, Love X Stereo headlined SXSW’s perennially packed ‘K-Pop Night Out’ showcase and nabbed a best electronic dance album of the year nod at the 2017 Korean Music Awards. Accruing an eclectic array of artist spotlights and rave reviews in international media outlets such as the BBC, Billboard Magazine, and MTV, the critically acclaimed band eschewed the traditional studio album template from 2017 to 2019 by adventurously embarking on an ambitious fan-funded project that spawned 37 experimental music video tracks (37A, 37B, 37X, 37C) as well as collaborated on original soundtracks for the smash hit Netflix Korea TV series ‘Love Alarm (Original Soundtrack)’ and award-winning indie short film ‘Zero One’. Recently featured in the global chart-topping Netflix USA TV series ‘XO, Kitty Official Playlist’ and tapped by Rolling Stone Magazine as one of the ‘10 Rising AAPI [Asian-American Pacific Islander] Artists You Need to Know’ in 2023, Love X Stereo (in collaboration with modernative SoCal songstress, DA1SY DØØM) is set to drop a trio of singles from their new EP entitled / 안녕 ÄNɎƏŊ / in Q2 2023.
