KaWan DeBose's music is a gumbo of sounds including pop, house, R&B, and jazz, yet soul is the premise of them all. His intricate, yet upbeat melodies pair perfectly with his thought provoking lyrics. His tracks hold themes of optimism and self-empowerment, while his light-hearted and catchy music will leave you no choice but to listen. Music has been a significant part of Kawan’s life for as long as he can remember. As a child, he fell in love with music through church and was inspired by legends such as Steely Dan, Stevie Wonder, and Pharrell Williams. Kawan has been performing for almost all of his life, and says, “I’m a true musician. It’s what I eat, breathe, and sleep. I hear songs constantly in my head, so there’s no need to get into a headspace to produce the work. It’s who I am.” Kawan likes to create music by letting the melodies and lyrics come naturally. Rather than trying to force the perfect track, his carefree attitude is exactly what produces effortless hits. Kawan brings an element of joy and unconditional passion to every track.
