Biography
Based out of Minneapolis but originally hailing from Fargo, North Dakota, the harmonious alliance of four men called the Blenders have been producing a unique a cappella sound since the early '90s. Tim Kaspar, Ryan Lance, Darren Rust, and Allen Rust (who replaced original member Paul Dunkirk) found unusual success for a band of such a limited genre, appearing on multiple TV shows and opening for many national comedic and musical performers. The Primarily A Cappella label was mostly responsible for the band's album output, issuing three albums for them, including a Christmas LP, Nog, after the band's initial debut on Cowtown Records, 1992's Totally Whipped. With a little more edge than the average a cappella group, the Blenders were also able to translate their success into a major-label contract, signing with Universal Records in 1999. They released albums into the 2010s, among them four holiday albums and a covers album, Songs from the Soul, in 2006. ~ Stacia Proefrock, Rovi
