Biography
Grammy® Award nominee Ron Korb music spans the genres of Instrumental, World, Crossover, Classical, Latin, Soundtrack and New Age. His compositions are steeped in the diverse cultural traditions of his Asian-Canadian upbringing and his travels collecting indigenous flutes from Europe, Asia, and South America. His latest album World Café won the Best World Beat Album at the IMA Awards in NYC, Best Global Fusion Award at the "One World Music Awards"and it charted on Babel, La Música Del Mundo and was Official Selected for World Music Central’s Hispanic Heritage Month. His "Asia Beauty" album was nominated at the 58th Grammy®Awards. It also won Best in Show at the Global Music Award, Best Instrumental at the International Acoustic Music Awards, Best World Fusion at the ZMR Awards in New Orleans. He also won The Brand Laureate Award along with Keanu Reeves, Eric Clapton and pop singer Adele. Ron has played on movie soundtracks including the Chinese War film “The Eight Hundred” which achieved 2020's highest grossing international box office. Ron has worked with directors such as Ang Lee, Atom Egoyan, Mira Nair, John Woo and two IMAX films narrated by Tom Cruise and Jennifer Lawrence respectively. Other credits include Being Julia and Merchant/Ivory’s last film The White Countess starring Ralph Fiennes, Vanessa and Lynn Redgrave. Ron has played on many projects by the Academy Award winning composer Mychael Danna including the Emmy winning episode of World Without End.
