Biography
An amazing thing has happened since March 06, 2013. That was the day that Stompin’ Tom Connors died. As history has recorded, Mr. Connors left behind a legacy of songs about the characters and landscapes of his beloved home country of Canada. The day of his passing, a Canadian singer songwriter living in Nashville, was so moved that he wrote and recorded a song that celebrated the passing of this national icon. The song was posted to YouTube on March 7. On March 13, Mike Plume ended the nationally televised memorial service for Stompin’ Tom by singing the song he wrote a week before. This was more than just a performance. It was a passing of the torch. Mike Plume has been travelling the highways of Canada for over 25 years. He has been telling stories, singing songs, making friends, and gathering inspiration at every stop along the way. Born in New Brunswick, raised in Alberta, and having served in Nashville, Mike returned home to Alberta in 2016. A new album is about to add to the legacy of great songs that tell our story. “Born By The Radio” is the album where the entire life experience comes together.
