Biography

Based in Los Angeles California, Eko Zu has performed at Lost Lands, Lightning in a Bottle, Northern Nights, and Pixie Dust music festivals. 
 Featuring collaborations with Kraddy, ill.Gates, Ahee, Bachelors of Science, MOONZz and more. With remixes from Champagne Drip, Opiuo, Dimond Saints, and others. 
 Releases on Subsidia, The Funk Hunter’s Westwood Recordings, Bachelors of Science CODE Recordings and many more coming in 2023! 
 Eko Zu has played some of the biggest clubs in LA and San Francisco, with shows in SLC, Portland, and Olympia.  As a support act, he’s opened for Nero, SoDown, Jack Beats, Stylust, Polish Ambassador, LAXX, Antennae, Phutureprimitive and many more. 
 After graduating with a degree in sound design in 2005, he quickly earned his stripes as a FOH Sound Engineer. Since 2014 he has toured internationally with world-class artists The Glitch Mob, Big Wild, Flume, and The Chainsmokers. 
 The sound of Eko Zu draws upon all these influences and more, combining multiple elements of universally attractive genres into a diverse, complex, and highly accessible sound floating somewhere within the obscure realm of Bass/Pop. 
 Eko Zu stems from our inner duality— our “Zu” represents our inner animal, our sense of survivalism, our monkey brain.  Our “Eko” is our sense of higher purpose, our true calling.  The nature of Eko Zu is the daily confrontation we face between our Eko and our Zu, the tension of our Inner Resistance, in every decision we make.
