Biography

Kormac started out as out as a hip-hop scratch DJ and MPC beat-maker. He has matured into an artist who brings a totally unique approach to his art, twisting samples and meticulous recordings of acoustic instruments into something entirely unique. His latest album, Equivalent Exchange, saw him write a full suite of material for an orchestra and a host of collaborators including Loah, Jafaris, Jack O’ Rourke, MayKay, Shahab & Shayan Coohe and Stephen James Smith while working with acclaimed artist, Maser, on artwork and show visuals. The live show sold out venues throughout Ireland. Kormac has recently completed the soundtrack for The Diplomat - a new 6 part series for ITV Studios produced by Word Productions (Line of Duty.) The show stars Sophie Rundle (Peaky Blinders) and will be airing on Alibi/Now TV in February ‘23. He has previously written stirring, uneasy scores for two multi-episodic TV series, Professionals (starring Brendan Fraser) and Red Election (starring Lydia Leonard and Stephen Dillane), airing worldwide on Disney Plus and primetime in the U.S. respectively. He’s played festivals including Glastonbury, Bestival, Electric Picnic, Sonar and toured the UK, Europe, Eastern Europe, Australia and Canada alongside luminaries Portishead, Nas, Flaming Lips, Sonic Youth, Snarky Puppy and a host of others. Current streaming figures are in excess of 60 million.
