Biography
Arisa is an Italian pop singer whose debut single, "Sincerita," was a chart-topping smash hit upon its release in 2009. Born Rosalba Pippa on August 20, 1982, in Genoa, Italy, she was offered a major-label recording contract with Warner Music after winning the Mia Martini award, a first-place prize for newcomers at the Sanremo Music Festival. Her award-winning song entry in the festival, "Sincerita," was released as a single in 2009 and went straight to number one on the Italian charts. The full-length album, Sincerita (2009), was released shortly thereafter and was a Top Five hit. Both the single and album also charted in neighboring Switzerland. In addition to the smash hit title track, the album includes the follow-up single "Io Sono." ~ Jason Birchmeier
