Biography
“I thought to myself, this dude is different and I love that about him” - Adam Levine (Maroon 5, NBC’s The Voice) Jake Wells has created music untethered to any one genre since his youth. From folk ballads to neo-soul pop songs, Jake’s drive as a songwriter, producer, and artist is resolute and unyielding. With an unceasing desire to create, he formed a band called Jake & The Dirty Magicians, that band is where the expression of Funkadelic-Bluesy-Eyed-Soul-Rock gets to be explored. With a dynamic blend of southern charm, captivating vocals, and a gravitation towards cinematic musical textures, Jake Wells invites listeners to explore vast emotional landscapes through his music. Jake was born in Niceville, FL to a family of musicians, with whom he spent his childhood recording and performing across the nation. He later hitchhiked around the United States, determined to find his voice, and in 2016 released his first of many self-produced tracks, “Roll Like Thunder,” in Kansas City, MO. The immediate success of his debut single gained Wells hundreds of thousands of global listeners, and he was invited to appear on NBC’s television show “The Voice” (Season 15), further growing his fanbase. Now Jake continues to write and produce music both for himself, as well as The Dirty Magicians.
