Biography
Artist, Poet, Musician + Philanthropist Daphne Guinness has worked across many modes and mediums in the arts: as an author, model, producer and poet. Long known in fashion, she turned the act of getting dressed into an art form, and has collaborated with some of the world’s greatest designers and artists. At the root of it all was always her passion for music. In 2016, prompted by the death of her beloved brother, Daphne started writing her own songs; more for catharsis than as an intended career trajectory. David Bowie was impressed with her music and recommended her to his long-time producer Tony Visconti – and another chapter of her life began. The music flowed and before long, she was able to release her first collection of songs. Optimist In Black was produced in collaboration with Visconti and released to critical acclaim. A year later Daphne finished recording her second album, again produced by Visconti. Released in April 2018, Daphne & The Golden Chord was an unflinching and personal album and marked her progression towards a more glam rock direction. Her 3rd album ‘Revelations’ dropped in 2020 with an accompanying art film done in collaboration with close friend and renowned photographer, David LaChapelle for the song 'Heaven,' a cooly rueful French/Euro disco track. “It’s a classic heart-break anthem," says Guinness. Daphne's fourth album, ’Sleep’, is scheduled for release through Agent Anonyme in late 2023.
