Biography
As DJ and producer Nosaj Thing, Los Angeles born and raised Jason W. Chung has been actively releasing music and performing for 15 years, expanding outwards from his first shows in the early 2000s at LA’s DIY venue The Smell, through opening for The xx and The Weeknd, to headlining influential live experiences around the world with visual collaborators including Daito Manabe and Bureau Cool. Producing tracks for Kendrick Lamar, Kid Cudi, and Chance The Rapper, Nosaj Thing has also remixed a diverse roster of generation-spanning artists including Philip Glass, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Flying Lotus. However, it is across his three EPs and four albums that Nosaj Thing transcends genres and inspirations to push experimental music into an otherworldly, evocative and robust body of work: ‘Views / Octopus’ EP (2006), ‘Drift’ (2009), ‘Home’ (2013), ‘Fated’ (2015), ‘No Reality EP’ (2016), ‘Parallels’ (2017) and ‘No Mind’ (2020).
