Biography

Nambyar is the project of Jesse Nambiar. The musician, songwriter, and producer began his career at 21 years old in the pop band Valerius, with the band having a number-one hit in Indonesia. After two albums, he ventured into a solo career as Nambyar, soon after signing with Sony Music. Jesse has been releasing new music since 2020 with songs such as “Caroline,” “How Would It Feel,” and “Lost,” where he sings open-heartedly about learning to cope with depressions, fears, and insecurities. Nevertheless, his music always carries a hopeful perspective, as heard on his track “Things Get Better.” He also sings about the beautiful changes in life, like finding love or becoming a father. Having played opening shows for artists such as Billie Eilish, in October 2021 Nambyar’s debut album How Would It Feel was released. He presented it live with a new band to a full crowd at the well-known Amsterdam venue, Bitterzoet.
