Biography
Since first being formed in the winter of 2007 by four friends from a small mountain town in Washington State, Alda has spent the past thirteen years crafting music inspired by the genres of Black Metal, experimental and traditional Folk music, Doom Metal, and others. Their lyric and thematic subjects have been inspired primarily by personal experiences and observations of the natural world, as well as the increasing degradation of wild places by human influence. An homage to history and myth is also layered into the stories and elegies that Alda weave into their songs. Alda has recorded four full-length albums: Alda (2009), Tahoma (2011), Passage (2014), and a long-awaited new album entitled, which is projected to be released in 2021 by Germany's Eisenwald records. Since their inception, the band has retained the same core members of Steph Bruton, Jace Bruton, Tim Brown, and Michael Korchonnoff, and they are occasionally joined by friends assisting as touring members of the band. Alda is currently based out of the town of Eatonville, Washington.
