Los Angeles-based OCCULTS is a Post-Punk/Shoegaze revival project formed by #1 Billboard recording artist, Emilio Hernandez and drummer, Patrick Lawrence. After 20 years of writing and performing together in the dance-pop band Nothing Still, the duo began to explore new avenues and re-discover the sounds they once fell in love with as teenagers... A mixture of early 80's Post-Punk era rhythm and the sadness of Early 90's Shoegaze. Pulling influences from The Smiths, Joy Division, The Cure, The Church and more - Occults’ music combines aggressively fast rhythms, Marr-esque guitar melodies, and dreamy beside vocals by Hernandez. Occults released their Debut EP - “Sacred Heart” on Jan 28th, 2022.
