Biography
Masasolo started as a recording project for Morten Søgaard in 2015. While playing in other Copenhagen based bands he started to make his own songs as an outlet for musical experimentation, as well as a personal diary of the joys and pains of everyday life. After posting one of the songs online things started to go fast for the band, that by then didn’t even have a name. Following the death of Han Solo in “The force awakens” (2015) Morten decided on becoming his successor and named the band Masasolo. In 2015 he released the EP “Breakup” and got heavy rotation on US national radio station KCRW, they were featured on Hype Machine’s top 50 and blogs like Hillydilly and Indie Shuffle and they played the legendary Roskilde Festival, UK blog Jajaja even picked Masasolo as one of 5 danish bands to keep an eye on. In 2017 they released their first full length album “At Sixes and Sevens” which dealt with the pains and strains of being a dreamer entering adulthood. The album brought them a greater status and took them touring around Europe. Danish magazine Soundvenue picked the album as one of the 20 best Danish albums of 2017. The band's second album “Bridges” will be released October 2019. An album recorded partially in a rehearsal studio in a suburb of Copenhagen with the band and finished alone by Morten over 3 months in a cabin.
