Malyssa is known for her unbelievabe beauty, lovable personality and upbeat dance pop music. She’s a Modesto CA native of Thai and Native American heritage. Her stage name “Malyssa” (pronounced Mah-Lee-Saw) means “jasmine” in Thai and gives tribute to her Thai heritage. She jumped in the music scene February 2002 with the dance pop single “Reminisce” receiving heavy airplay on KYLD 94.9 FM (SF Bay Area) and 102.5 KDON (Monterey-Salinas), becoming mixshow and regular rotations plays throughout NorCal, Seattle, Hawaii, Florida and Texas. This led to her Reminisce full-length album being released October 2002 by Rhythm Drive Records, a label founded by Reno Ursal after his 4 year stint working promotions for Bay Area indie label Classified Records. This full-length album showcases songs with similar upbeat pop songs like “By My Side” and “Crazy” from various songwriters and producers. Malyssa’s follow-up single “Here With You” brought her exposure to a global dance music audience in Europe and Asia, leading to performances in international markets of Saipan and Guam. “Reminisce” is considered her biggest hit song, being featured n various dance music compilations. Malyssa is a beautiful soul who makes an impact to anyone she meets and through her voice on dance pop songs that emulates her belief in positivity and love.
