Biography

Thodoris Voutsikakis is believed to be one of the most promising artists of his generation. He has stood out for his collaborations with distinguished artists, for the roles he has performed in musical theater but mostly for his unique way of performing and his remarkable artistic temperament. His long lasting collaboration with Lina Nikolakopoulou has led to his first big personal tour bearing the signature of the great lyricist as well as to the iconic partnership for a new record with the Italian Oscar – winning composer Nicola Piovani, that for the past year has made all Greeks sing that “Life is Beautiful”. He enchanted both audience and critics with his performance as “Erotokritos” at the Greek National Opera in a musical composed by Dimitris Maramis giving justice to the acceptance he received when his first album (“Emotional Age”) was released. He has collaborated with Stavros Xarhakos, Christos Leontis, Dimitris Papadimitriou, Nikos Xidakis, Dulce Pontes, Maria Farantouri, Mario Frangoulis, Luis Borda etc. His Greek origins, his family’s big record collection, his love for cinema and the long studies on singing, musical theater but also law has formed his artistic foundation. Motivated by this versatile Mediterranean mosaic he constantly carries on evolving his musical identity. Piovani said about Voutsikakis: “Listening to my songs being sung in Greek, dressed in his voice , is a very powerful feeling. Moving.” He was born on a hot summer day in 1988.
