Biography

Early in 2006, Aki released her first debut album “情人日记” in Taiwan, produced by well-known music producer John Yuan (袁惟仁). Ten years later, she returned to her homeland in Malaysia and started her new journey as an independent artist. During that time, she performed at events of all scales and has also never given up on songwriting. In 2017, Aki signed to a Malaysian independent music record label “Jumuro Music 巨木音乐” and later released her solo album “Hey (嘿)”. The same year in December, Aki was joined by fellow friend Gideon Alu8khan Chen (阿陆八). Together they formed the band “ARVAN 阿尔梵” in which Aki plays the role of the lead singer. Aki’s music comes in different styles, from vibrantly loud to quietly calming, and from warm to blues. Every song written by Aki truly describes her life and experiences. For instance, it could be about the daily interaction between Aki and her daughter, or even the people and stories she witnessed while running the homestay business she and her husband started together. She tends to describe her doubts and views towards life in the most genuine way possible. At the end of 2020, Aki comes back to the industry with her latest single “寻找” and “风和蚂蚁”.
