Biography
Long-time friends and musical collaborators, Sean Dedrick and Adam Blesing, started writing music during the global pandemic of 2020. Influenced by modern reggae/dub bands like Fat Freddy’s Drop, Stick Figure, The Black Seeds, Fortunate Youth, and many more. From Adelaide, South Australia (Kaurna Yerta), Dojo Rise have been firing up dance floors ever since their first show in 2021. Rapidly forming a solid following of fans, young and old, who in the throes of this pandemic, have experienced the raw, fun loving, creative energy that Dojo Rise bring to every show. They released their first EP in July of that year and had their debut show in 2021 with drummer Anthony Sherwood. “Really sinking into that Dub Reggae and Soul sound. They are building the foundation, I think within this country, for that sound, and I absolutely love it” Tyrone Pynor, Triple J. “It just leans into how great they are as a soulful roots reggae outfit” - Nkechi Anele, Triple J. Dojo Rise are creating a sound that can uplift, inspire, and unite people to create a party vibe like no other. With a debut album currently in the works, and a whole string of shows to come over the next year, there is no stopping the momentum of Dojo Rise.
