Biography
Marina Satti is a Greek singer, songwriter & music producer. Her music combines elements of Greek traditional music with contemporary sounds and polyphonic rhythms and production. She earned a scholarship at Berklee College of Music from which she graduated in 2011 majoring in Contemporary Writing & Production. In 2017 her single Mantissa went viral on YouTube, reaching 50 million views & streams to this day. Marina Satti was raised by a Sudanese father and a Cretan mother, in a culturally diverse environment that had a significant impact on her musical development and her multicultural artistic nature. She has studied classical piano, classical vocal training, architecture, theatre & jazz music. She represented Greece at the European Jazz Orchestra (EBU), performing across Europe and performed with the World Jazz Nonet at the John F. Kennedy Center. In 2011 she graduated from the Berklee while she developed her signature musical style by combining elements of Greek, Arabic, Balkan and Middle Eastern traditional music. In 2016 her single Κούπες reached 23 million views. Mantissa, released in 2017, composed & arranged by Satti, reached the top of the Greek & Bulgarian charts in a week. Satti has performed in over 20 countries across the globe and has collaborated with many major artists, she is the founder and artistic director of the polyphonic group fonés and the female choir chόres. Marina Satti is the first Greek singing act to perform on the legendary KEXP Show.
