Biography
“There is something about the darkness of the music and the lightness of her voice and delivery that is undeniably sultry and sexy – like a siren from another plain.” With a back catalog of collaborations that reads like the whos-who of underground electronic dance music on such iconic labels like Afterlife, Diynamic, Monkeytown, Suara, Infiné, Anjuna Deep, BPitch a.o., Delhia de France has been forging her solo career between Berlin and Los Angeles, giving melancholia a shape with her darker sides of Altpop Electronica. The writer, producer and performer with “..a voice like a sequined razor blade” has released her solo debut EP Moirai in 2018 with her sophomore Oceanides EP out in June 2019 including an eclectic roster of remixes by @MonkeySafari, @FurCoat, @JanusRasmussen (Kiasmos) and @Adriatique. Co-produced with renowned Robot Koch, with whom Delhia has been working closely over the years, her EPS saw support by Spotify, XL8R, Clash Magazine, Kaltblut Magazine, BBC, KEXP, KCRW. Several of the songs found their way into TV shows like Lucifer or Netflix You. Delhia's ability to write and produce songs that are melancholic yet warm, meandering between heart-piercing and soothing, might be why they lean themselves so easily to moving pictures: she recently co-wrote songs for the new Amazon Show We Children From Bahnhof Zoo. Creating a sonically as well as visually stunning world Delhia collaborates with talented visionaries for her artwork as well as on stage.
