Biography

Zenesoul (pronounced 'zen-soul’) is a Juno-nominated R&B/Soul artist from Toronto, Canada. Born in Nigeria, she began song writing at 11 years old. Her love for writing is constantly evolving as she often changes her juxtaposition in efforts to feel the other side, bringing depth and uniqueness to her songs. Writing is her freedom and gives her the ability to come together with other talented people to make soundtracks for life's experiences.   ZENSOUL first gained major attention for her music with the release of her single How It Feels in early 2020. The single grabbed the attention of Rory Farrell and R&B Radar, along with multiple blog mentions.    The vibrant and diverse Toronto music scene has been the perfect place to hone her talents. Taking from the mixture of her African culture, UK Soul, American R&B and the ever present West Indian influence.   In August 2020, ZENESOUL released her sophomore EP, Coffee including the tragic ballad "Safe" taking listeners through her experience with domestic abuse. Coffee was a testament to her personal growth as a songwriter.    Song writing and recording are her daily operations, allowing her to build and learn with her audience - without missing a beat.    Her third EP, Brown Sugar released May 2021. The project's first single Love and Be Loved quickly became her biggest hit gaining over 3.5M streams since releasing. The success of seeing her audience organically grow globally speaks of a connection that is pure and true.
