{maw•jo} 
 the 22 year old r&b songstress, majo, writes with intention, honesty and raw emotion. she began singing and writing songs at the age of 11 and started working on her first ep "sideline 4" when she was only 14. after it's subsequent release, she went on a 2 year hiatus to focus on school and worked on her craft as a lyricist and performer. she went on to write her breakout single "honey" with longtime collaborators chris godfrey and jason amos, making her an r&b artist to look out for in her hometown of toronto, canada. in the next year, she cowrote dylan sinclair's lead single "home" on his juno nominated project "proverb" and began writing for and with artists in the city such as jon vinyl, nonso amadi and ashton mills. at the same time, she was expanding her repertoire and releasing singles for 2 years until she encountered a relationship that helped her finish out her upcoming ep "hate to see you go". she sonically tells the story of how her life experiences up to that point taught her how to honour her experiences/emotions whilst also letting go of the potential of short term relationships with grace. she hopes to invoke a deep vulnerability with her audience as they experience her story through her writing and follow her journey as a rising artist.
