Biography

Mark Weigle was born in 1967 in Annandale, Minnesota. He is a singer/songwriter with five albums and one double album to his credit. Mark presented a positive spin on gay life as a gay writer and musician celebrating the many facets of LGBTQ life in his songs. His debut album of 1998 "The Truth Is" included low-key compositions in a country/folk style, such as "The Two Cowboy Waltz". His album of 2003, Different and the Same, included adaptations of others' songs, such as "867-5309/Jenny". Written by Alex Call and Jim Keller and originally performed by Tommy Tutone in 1982 Mark's version changed the name and gender of the song's subject to "867-5309/Jimmy", on that same album, Mark also covered Joan Baez' 1972 composition "Love Song To A Stranger". At the 2003 Outmusic Awards, Mark received an unprecedented five Outmusic nominations and won in three categories, including: "Outsong of the Year", "Outstanding New Recording", and "Outstanding Producer". In that Same year Larry Flick of Billboard magazine named Mark's second album, "All That Matters" as one of the "Top 10 albums of the 2000's". Mark has lived in Northern California since the 90's. Happily married for 9 years to his husband Geronimo, Mark is the proud dad of two rescue pit bulls, Bella and Callie. Mark has owned and operated Mockingbird Books since 2012.
