New Album “Tales of Queer Suburbia” out 2023! Matt Fishel is an award-winning independent music artist, songwriter & producer based in London, UK. Since establishing his own record label (Young Lust) in 2009, Matt has carved a unique niche for himself with his individual brand of queer-themed rock music & videos, garnering millions of YouTube views along the way. Matt’s music combines elements of rock, punk, alternative, pop & storytelling; his narrative songs & candid lyrics deal openly with the joys, pains & experiences of growing up as a gay teen and being an out & proud gay man. A passionate advocate for social justice & political change, Matt creates unashamedly positive expressions of gay identity through his work. His 2013 music video for Radio-Friendly Pop Song went viral, gaining him international recognition for his humorous yet acerbic commentary on institutional homophobia within the entertainment industry. His 2014 video for Finally celebrates global Pride via images submitted by his fans from over 20 countries. 2018 single LGBTQIA (A New Generation) is "a storming queer rock anthem" (Gay Times magazine) whose video & lyrics pay tribute to queer history and the LGBT+ pioneers who dedicated their lives to the fight for equality. Matt's debut album Not Thinking Straight & follow-up Cover Boy were co-produced with Mark Crew (Bastille, Rag'n'Bone Man). His 2018 album M/F is co-produced with rock producer Lee Batiuk (Deaf Havana).
