Biography

Singer-songwriter John Roa's first professional foray in the music industry was when he joined TV singing competitions Pilipinas Got Talent Season 4 (2013) and Tawag ng Tanghalan (2016). In 2016, he joined the hip hop collective Ex Battalion and released his first solo album “Byahe”. In 2018, John Roa released a string of hits. This includes his debut “Oks Lang,” a more mellow version of a previous viral hit, “‘Di ako Fboy,” and “Taguan.” While his previous music had a more upbeat hip-hop sound, his solo output featured a more slowed-down, melodious R&B sound. This, matched with his mature-for-his-age songwriting skills and a soulful singing style, John Roa continues to aim higher as he released numerous singles of his own like “Natagpuan,” “Asa,” and “Sige Padayon.” Of course, his talent in producing and making music doesn’t only stop on his own, he also had numerous collaboration tracks like “Maitim Na Mahika” with Yuridope and BLASTER, as well as the recent single of Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo’s upbeat track “Alam.” Thus, the singer-songwriter and versatile music artist John Roa puts down another banger in a new song titled “RIGHT TIME," a melting pot of trap beats, modern R&B with John Roa singing with a marked patois lilt that adds to the track’s chilled, urban party vibe and it’s no surprise that John Roa is considered to be one of the most prolific songsmiths of his generation.
