Biography
Based out of San José, Costa Rica, Sintagma is a fast and heavy metal band known for their intense live shows and in-your-face riffs. Their official debut was in November, 2000, when they played at San Jose's staple rock bar, Sand. The band delivered a fiery set and the audience was thirsty for more, so the band had to play their entire repertoire again. After several concerts the band locked themselves in the studio to record their first album called "D100D d a i", produced by Massimo Hernandez, drummer of the Costa Rican band Gandhi, and recorded by Alberto Ortiz, one of the country's most awarded engineer and producer. Sintagma had changes in their line up after the first album was released and shows around Costa Rica, founding singer Randall and bass player Fabian left the group. Remaining members Chamber and Soto focused on taking the band forward, met Vinicio Barrantes (bass) and asked him to join the band. Later singer, Jacobo Chaverri was the perfect match for what they were looking for. Sintagma was back on track and in the studio recording their sophomore effort "Vestigios", releasing it at the same time the band decided to breakup. In 2018 the band decided to get back together to record new music and incorporate guitar player, Mauricio Mora.
