Biography

Hartford, Connecticut-born Charles Dube (born: Charles Lewis Dube) has worn several hats during his career in music. He played drums for Chronic Disorder (1982-1984), Jack Tragic & The Unfortunates (1984-1986) and the Dispossessed (1986-1988) and keyboards for Leigh Gregory of the Dispossessed, Miles From Nowhere and the Mellow Drunks, from 1988 until 1992, and guitar on a Dispossessed recording. A skilled engineer, Duke has worked the soundboard for Gregory, Dar Williams, Alison Krauss & Union Station, the Nields, Huey Lewis and Bruce Hornsby and for radio stations, WWUH, WSPR and WDRC, in Connecticut. He released a solo album, Long Walks Off A Short Pier", in 1999, and recorded a yet-to-be-released album between 1999 and 2002. Dube made his recording debut, in 1983, on a Jack Tragic album, Coming Down The Mountain, that included "I Kill Hippies", a tongue-in-joel tune picked by Spin magazine as "one of the top 100 punk singles of all time." ~ Craig Harris
