Biography

La 45 is a rock band from the most popular street in the Manrique district, in Medellin, a place where the tango and Carlos Gardel are icons in Colombia. The story started in 2004. Camilo Martinez, singer, won the colombian and brazilian music festival in 1992. In 1997 Formed "Sicodelia Sonica" & "Iguana Plástica" In 2000 he joined “G98”, working with scratch and sequences. Camilo, Juan Villa and Gonzalo Hernandez been playing since 2001 when they formed "Patarroyo" after a single called "Tragame" that Camilo recorded with Xokko Sanchez, Juan Fernando Mejía and Froilan Moreno, under the nickname "Balamadre" in PROMIX Estudios, produced by Cesar Bohorquez and Andrés Cañola, that line-up never played on stage but it was the beggining of LA 45. In 2004 after been playing as "Stiches" since 2002 they change their name to "LA 45" and began to work in a songs that Camilo wrote many years ago also creating songs together at rehearsal, mixing Rock with Tango, Bossanova and Bambuco, sounding a little more mature, as we can observe in their 1st eponymous record "La 45" (2005) with more acoutic elements, bambuco melodies, the pasillo colombiano, bossanova, tango and also pop latino. In March 2005, they released their 1st single untitled “ Transplante”, and got the top of local young charts. Oscar Azula director’s video clip was enjoyed by the medias and most of all by the audience in the different cities of Colombia.
