Biography
Captivated by sports, astronomy, and popular music, Francisco Gabilondo Soler debuted professionally on October 15, 1934, while singing in a popular radio show and after introducing himself as Cri-Cri. Even when he started composing traditional music earlier, children's folk became his passion. On July 30, 1961, his radio show called El Grillito Cantor was broadcast for the last time. Nevertheless, his music and funny children-oriented stories based on his personal experiences when he was a child have been featured for decades in top-selling records. Francisco Gabilondo Soler passed away after a heart failure on December 14, 1990. ~ Drago Bonacich, Rovi
