Biography
A triumphant return for Seryn as the indie-folk darlings find their way back to stage and studio. Founded in Denton, Texas and based out of Nashville, Tennessee, spirited indie folk-pop ensemble Seryn crafts emotionally charged, harmony-laden Americana-kissed pop that invoke names like The Lumineers, Peter Gabriel, and Patrick Watson. This genre-bending outfit is equally at home in an intimate theatre or the biggest festival stages, playing to the size of their hearts, not the size of their audience. Traditional elements collide with modern concepts in a breathtaking dance, that can only be described as “enrapturing.” Formed in 2010 around the talents of Trenton Wheeler (Topknot), Nathan James Allen, and Aaron Stoner, the band employs an instrumental arsenal that includes guitar, ukulele, bass, violin, banjo, synths, and vibraphones, as well as some inventive percussion, released its debut album, This Is Where We Are, in 2011. The LP received nearly unanimous regional acclaim, as did the group's rousing live shows. After relocating to Nashville, the band issued a second studio album, 2015's Shadow Shows. The release of “Mausoleum” came in tandem with the announcement of the band’s indefinite hiatus in 2016, which was subsequently broken at Homegrown Festival 2019.
