Biography

Montañas is a sludge metal band with roots in Buenos Aires, Argentina. With only 5 months of life, they release their first discographic material, a self-titled EP, consisting of 6 tracks and produced by the band in its entirety. From that point forward, the stage was the environment where that the band showcased the power and strength of their compositions. During the first couple of years, the band has garnered a faithful audience that followed them through their presentations in the main venues of the Buenos Aires underground scene, such as Niceto, The Roxy Live, Uniclub, Club V, among others. Playing in events such as Noiseground Music Festival, Heavy Noise, Club Calavera and Festi Terror alongside renowned local bands such as Avernal, Los Antiguos, Sutrah, Poseidotica, Banda de la Muerte, Sick Porky as well as international bands like Pendejo! (Netherlands) and The Shrine (USA). On November 26 2016, they go back into the studio to begin recording what would become their first long play, titled “Cargados de furia los cuerpos resisten” which was finally released on May 20 2017. The band is currently working on expanding its horizons and taking their show to new audiences.
