Biography
Formed by the finalists of ITV's Popstars: The Rivals, pure pop girl band Clea consisted of Lynsey Brown, Chloe Staines, Emma Beard, and Aimee Kearsley, all of whom auditioned for the TV talent contest in 2002. After not getting a place in the final line up for Girls Aloud, they decided to form their own band Clea, (an acronym of the first letter of their forenames). After signing a deal with Upside Management, the girls were signed to Warner Music, the band released debut single, "Download It" (number 21), and second single "Stuck in the Middle" (number 23) The album wasn’t released at the time in the UK but was released in Eastern Europe and Japan, but soon after the girls were dropped by their label. The same year, Chloe left the group and the 3 girls remained with Upside Management who released their subsequent music independently. With a new Europop sound, they released "Clothes Off," (number 35) a collaboration with dance producers Da Playaz on a reworking of the Jermaine Stewart hit from the '80s. And then 4th single "Lucky Like That," followed by their album Trinity, featuring re-vocalled songs taken from their plus brand new recordings. Trinity from released in 22 Territories and the girls toured China, Thailand, Europe before they split in 2007.
