Biography
Grand Pine are Guy Perkins (vocals/guitar), Connor Black-Harry (guitar), Mike Ridley (keys), Pelaya Arapakis (drums) and Emma Hobbs (bass). Together, they have honed in on their signature sound - five-part harmonies, synth pads and enveloping reverbs that transport listeners to other worlds. The recording process for the eight songs that would make up this debut album was long and strenuous, often stretching the span of 6-8 months to finish each song. Grand Pine have solidified their place as one of Melbourne's most rapidly developing and beloved acts. On their debut album 'Hold Me Down', the band explore recurring themes of loneliness, heartache and disconnection but also gives listeners glimpses of growth and acceptance of self.
