 SHEMA vol. 1 If these songs feel too slow and repetitive, they’re especially for you. I’ll admit that sometimes they feel too slow and repetitive even to myself, and that’s when I know that I need to “shema.” We don’t really give ourselves any margin to slow down and reflect anymore. We live in a constant cycle where we over-exert until we crash; then, we crash until we’ve regained enough energy to over-exert. “Meditation” is the practice of ruthlessly destroying that cycle. It’s not the mystical, goofy practice that Looney Tunes taught you when you were young. It’s the rich, time-tested practice of grabbing hold of one small piece of Truth and letting all else fade away. Turning that one phrase over and over in your mind and letting it impress itself deeply in your heart. It’s the discipline of dragging your soul out of the shadows of “routine” and gazing upon the Light. It’s the practice of “listening.” Shema.

 HUMMINGBIRD “Hummingbird” is a collection of songs that carry themes of joy, healing, and hope; I wrote this album while fighting through a mental breakdown in 2020, and I recorded it in my studio at home in 2021, a year of great change and healing for me. If you’re struggling, I hope these songs encourage you and lift you to the light. if you’re in a great place, I hope they fill you with gratitude.
