Biography

Dol Ammad is the first of three “Dol” projects of Greek electronic musician Thanasis Lightbridge, the others being Dol Theeta and Dol Kruug. The three projects fuse electronic music with heavy metal each through a different perspective. 
 Dol Ammad is the most grandiose of the three combining bombastic power metal with synthesizers and a 12-member classical choir instead of a typical singer. The main themes of the project are space battles and sci-fi stories and Thanasis often refers to his music as “space metal”. The extended use of synthesizers and sound effects mixed with a heavy metal core of high speed rhythm guitars and double bass drumming result in an undoubtedly unique listening experience. 
 Officially formed back in 2002, Dol Ammad have released 3 full albums, 1 EP and 3 singles. They have co-operated in 2 albums with drummer Alex Holzwarth (Rhapsody, Avantasia, etc) and had DC Cooper (Royal Hunt) as a guest singer in 2 songs. 
 Dol Ammad produce and release their music through their own independent label. Lightbridge produces music video clips for his music and has also recently ventured into music and sound design for video games.
