Biography
Bombataz, the Brussels post-jazz pop quartet, introducing "Unhappy," the latest indie pop track from Bombataz that will take you on a journey through your deepest emotions. Despite its melancholic lyrics, "Unhappy" is a refreshing departure from Bombataz's signature style, showcasing their versatility as musicians. The track explores the dangers of identifying oneself solely through their struggles and pain, making it a poignant reminder of the importance of self-love and acceptance. In a world where uncertainty and despair are all too common, "Unhappy" serves as a beacon of hope, reminding us that we are not alone in our struggles. Bombataz was born when jazz students Vitja Pauwels (guitar, voice), Hendrik Lasure (keyboards), Ruben De Maesschalck (bass) and Casper Van De Velde (drums) discovered that their common love for music is not limited to jazz, but to literally all genres. Their first EP '¡Kapao!' was released in 2019 by Fake Records. That title stands for 'a kick in the face'. But peaceful, like a business card. For their first full album, Olympics of Love (2020), they developed a more mature sound. They drew inspiration from artists like Prince and Fleedwood Mac to Hudson Mohawke and Cocteau Twins.
