Spiritual Violence', Annabel Jones' premiere track from her upcoming debut album, 'Forgiveness' is released this 11/11 at 11.11am. The experimental art pop track and Annabel's embracement of the strange and supernatural calls to mind the likes of Kate Bush, Bjork, Florence + the Machine and Lady Gaga. Annabel spins a kaleidoscopic vision of her bucolic childhood in England, where the idylls of her girlhood come crashing into adult reflections on her father's magical appearances and disappearances. Annabel grew up with a famous musician father and was devastated by his sudden death in 2012. 'Spiritual Violence' marks Annabel's debut release under Headquarters, a label she co-founded, affording her the freedom to pursue her singular artistic vision without compromise. 'Forgiveness' is the product of this creative and emotional control. "It's taken me eight years to be able to write these songs, before it was far too painful." The resulting work is Jane Austen meets Studio 54; the arcadian meets dark disco. Death, spiritualism and Freudian anxieties are all explored in front of a towering glow of lush 80s pop shimmer.
