Biography

Danish soul/pop/reggae band fronted by lead singer Ida Ambrose & songwriter Klaus Kjellerup along with guitarman Steffen Qwist and keyboard player "Onkel" Stanley Møller from the legendary 80's pop/reggae act Tøsedrengene which he founded with Kjellerup. 
 DmD was founded in 1992 by Kjellerup and lead singer Philippa Bulgin who sadly passed away one year after the debut album in 1993, aged only 26. After her death, Rie Rasmussen took over as lead singer. In Sept. 2022 however, she left the band and the new singer became Ida Ambrose. 
 DmD has had an impressive career and has performed more than 700 concerts. Many of their songs are well known in Denmark, among them "Hvorlænge vil du ydmyge dig?" and "Aldrig undvære dig" from the debut album (which scored four Grammy-nominations) and the hit songs "Kære Lillesøster" and "Er der nogen i himlen?" which is a tribute to the late singer. The band has released 14 albums since 1993, most of them scored gold or platinum, and their compilation 'Vores Bedste' scored 6 x platinum and spent eight weeks in a row as no. 1 on the Danish album chart. 
 Their latest album is their 14th, ‘Giv slip nu’ - the first album with Ida Ambrose - which was released in spring 2023.
