Biography
On her YouTube channel, Davina Michelle initially posts covers of artists that inspire her. Her performance of the P!NK classic "What About Us" (2017) went viral. "Now I know how it's supposed to sound," P!NK commented. An American tour follows and back home in the Netherlands she scores a hit record by occupying the number one spot for 11 weeks, which earns her 5 platinum awards and the award for 'Most successful singer ever in the Dutch Top 40'. In August 2019, she comes full circle when she opens for P!NK in front of 50,000 visitors. Meanwhile, a steady stream of hit singles has been launched. Tracks such as 'Skyward', 'Better Now' and 'Beat Me' (written for the F1 Grand Prix in Zandvoort) soon became big hits, The debut album 'my own world', released in August 2020 was awarded gold as well as an Edison Award in the 'Pop' category. In 2021 she performs at the Eurovision Song Contest in front of 183 million viewers worldwide with the track 'Sweet Water'. In May 2022 she gave her biggest concerts ever, two 'HYPER' shows in her home base Rotterdam, where 26,000 tickets sold out in no time. The spectacular shows are a true apotheosis after two long concertless corona years, during which Davina Michelle continued to make music, score several Top 10 hits and added a third Edison Award ('Best Pop Artist') to her collection. Again, it feels like the conclusion of a period, while the next one is already approaching and other countries are getting to know her.
