Biography
Mornington Peninsula born-and-raised songstress Suzi is breathing new life into alternative Australiana folk-rock. Suzi’s honest, destigmatising lyricism touches on the heartbreaking reality of being young and mentally ill in this day and age. With over 17,000 TikTok followers, and not to mention over 300,000 views on her latest single uploaded on the same platform, Suzi’s work has been felt resoundingly across both Australia and globally. Her first hand struggles with mental health issues are expressed throughout her artistry, with her profound storytelling abilities a testament to her stoic character. Suzi loves to empower women through writing songs about having a sense of agency within relationships, which is promoted across her catalogue. Equipped only with her acoustic guitar and poignant lyricism, Suzi’s welcoming stage presence provides a safe space for people of all walks of life to truly embrace themselves. And to dust the icing on the cake - she’s both a cat and dog person. After gaining traction through her TikTok account under the moniker ‘suzisangthis’, Suzi has since self-recorded her own debut EP, I Like It Better Indoors, which has surpassed the 100,000 stream mark on Spotify. And if that doesn’t impress you, she’s embarked upon a national tour which saw her play sold out shows across all of her hometown Melbourne gigs. She’s also supported Melbourne singer-songwriter Ben Stewart at Melbourne’s iconic live music venue The Corner Hotel.
