Biography
POESY, otherwise known as Sarah Botelho, was discovered after appearing on the first season of hit Canadian music competition show, THE LAUNCH. Her performance captivated the judges and the hearts of millions across the country. The incredible breakout performance propelled POESY to new heights yet unseen, landing her a major label deal with Big Machine Records. Met with an incredible reception, audiences were captivated with her soaring vocals and extraordinary talent, which led to her debut single "Soldier Of Love" debuting at #1 on the iTunes All Genres chart in Canada and landing in the Billboard Top 40. Keen to keep up this momentum, POESY introduced herself to global audiences with her four track debut EP Glassbox Confessional. This project saw POESY fully embody her artistry, exhibiting deeply personal and candid lyricism that gave fans an intimate, authentic insight into both her heart and mind. Now, showcasing her songwriting prowess and effortlessly cool ethereal aesthetic, POESY enters a new era of her career with the release of “Diamonds.” Haunting melodies cascade over a driving beat as she sings about dragging herself through the dark to get to the other side. "A diamond is made under huge amounts of pressure, but is of incredible value - just like we are as humans.” In early 2021 POESY enters the studio to track her follow up EP which she describes as cinematic and creatively unshackled.
