Biography
Mammals is the indie-electronica-folk project of Australian singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist, Guy Brown. Mammals’ debut EP Animalia clocked up over 11 million plays on Spotify via word of mouth. Following Animalia’s success Brown and his band supported Of Monsters & Men and The 1975 on their Australian tours, and won Triple J Unearthed to play at St Jerome’s Laneway Festival. Burnt out by the city lifestyle, Brown relocated to the small coastal town of Mollymook in 2016. He then embarked upon a year of travel and songwriting to piece together his soundtrack for escapism with the EP Chase Your Bliss. The lead single from Chase Your Bliss was featured in Spotify’s UK Viral 50 Playlist. In 2017, Mammals’ single ‘Depraved’ was featured on the season finale of the popular US television series How to Get Away With Murder. Mammals also toured Australia supporting Vera Blue and collaborated with Goldroom on the single ’Til Sunrise’ which amassed over 12 million Spotify streams. Mammals released a number of collaborative tracks in 2018, including ‘Can’t Drive’ with LDRU. Mammals also jumped on stage at some of Australia's biggest festivals including Splendour in the Grass and Sydney City Limits. In 2019, Mammals released the hit single ‘Calm Down’ and continued to create exciting new material for release in 2020.
