Biography
Yota is born in Stockholm, Sweden. Although her father was a performing singer and music had a great influence in her early life, she decided to go for arts school instead. As her first passion in life was art, running an art gallery with some friends along with studying arts was a natural choice for her. Later on by chance, her best friend connected her with the music industry and decided to give songwriting and singing a try. She stepped into dance music in the late 90's as a hobby, but soon music took over more and more of her time. Signing her first publishing deal with Misty Music and Container Publishing with the first track "Let me be" with Martin Venetjoki which was released on Mouthful Music (a Chicago House based recording label) launched her career. Working with Zoo Brazil/Laid was her first strong release with a certain kind of high quality house music and she decided she would continue to focus on music in this genre. As a talented melody and lyrics writer she was asked to work for Universal and some other majors. She moved to Paris/France in 2007, where she still lives now. Yota worked & collaborated with: Lifelike, Alan Braxe, John Acquaviva, DJ Yellow, Zoo Brazil, Håkan Lidbo, John Dahlbäck, Popular Computer, Cassette Club, Demon and Stonebridge just to name a few of them. Yota is also part of the project Mauvais Cliché (Strictly Rhythm). She's now releasing her first solo Album "Knight In Shining Armour" on Computer Science (Lifelike's label).
