Biography
Westrin and Mowry is an American folk-rock duo consisting of singer-songwriter Brian Westrin and producer/instrumentalist Peter Mowry. They formed in 2003 in East Lansing, Michigan and have released three critically acclaimed albums and a catalogue of over 80 original compositions. In June of 2015, the duo received the great honor of performing at the National Music Publishers Association annual meeting in New York City, an event which honored songwriter icon Billy Joel. In 2018, Westrin & Mowry received the John Lennon Songwriting Award for “Talk to Me Again.” Their most popular song to date received additional ears when singer-songwriter and actress Paris Jackson published a video of herself performing “Heart off the Shelf” on her social media. In addition to their work as Westrin & Mowry, the duo has also released music together and collaborated in the bands Meridian and April to Fall. Mowry was also the guitarist for the band Lord Huron. While now based in Michigan and Maine respectively, Westrin and Mowry continue to make music in a creative and cross-country fashion. From the Great Lakes to the Atlantic Ocean, they show no signs of slowing down.
