Biography

What started as an instrumental project for guitarist and founding member Nick Ilic back in 2005, releasing music under the moniker Even the Trees, grew into something more with the addition of current bandmates Michael Sartor, Chris Forth and Mike Allain in 2014. Even the Trees blends a mainly unique mix of Progressive, Post-Hardcore and Post-Rock genres to create something that has been coined "A love letter to the Post-Hardcore sound of the early 2000s", all while pushing the genre forward for a modern day audience. On December 7th, 2018, the band released their debut record “If Only Every Day Could Be Like This,” the culmination of three long years of joy, sadness, anxiety, and frustration. Across the album’s ambitious 65 minute runtime, songs weave through passages that are hauntingly beautiful, dark, brooding, heavy, and chaotic.
