Biography
Mamas Gun is a five-piece UK based soul band. Their first album “Routes to Riches” (2009) successfully broke them in Asia where they became the most played international artist on Japanese radio in 2009. After releasing two further albums “The Life & Soul” (2011) and “Cheap Hotel” (2013), 2015 marked a definitive personnel change, ushering in a new era with the band recording and producing themselves. Fourth album, “Golden Days” (2018) saw them consolidate their sound into a more focussed authentic 60s/70s influenced classic soul / r&b direction. Their latest album “Cure The Jones (2022) is generally viewed as their best album to date, having been critically lauded and added to many best of 2022 album lists. Since the pandemic the band has continued to build their dedicated live following in Europe, Asia and most significantly in the USA. The band is named after the Erykah Badu album Mama's Gun.
